I am an independent counsellor and work from a private practice in Bristol and within an occupational health department for a local authority. My particular interest is in workplace counselling and I am committed to facilitating growth and development in others, both personally and professionally. In my training work with a variety of organisations, I have a specialist interest in promoting well-being in the workplace.
As a bereavement counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care, I worked with a diverse range of clients all coming to terms with loss and bereavement. I find my understanding of loss invaluable in all my client work, including in a workplace setting, as issues such as organisational change or restructuring, redundancy, career change and retirement can all involve feelings of loss.

I have written and researched on gender and identity in the workplace, organisational cultures and am interested in how we experience our working lives. In a recent series for the journal Counselling at Work I published articles on my transition into the world of counselling. I am currently researching bullying and harassment in the workplace, linking my own personal experience of the phenomenon and how this informs my practice as a workplace counsellor and trainer.
My background is in journalism and broadcasting and I spent over ten years working as a radio and television producer at the BBC before re-training as a counsellor at the University of Bristol.
Qualifications:
I am committed to my own personal and professional development and regularly attend continued professional development trainings. I am a member of the BACP and abide by the BACP ethical framework for counselling. |
