I am an independent counsellor and trainer with a private practice in Bristol.  I work in a range of settings, privately with individuals, with clients referred to me through employee assisted programmes and within the occupational health unit of a local authority.  I also have experience of bereavement counselling, having worked with Cruse Bereavement Care.

My understanding of loss is invaluable in all my client work, including in a workplace setting. Issues such as organisational change or redundancy, career change and even retirement, can all involve feelings of loss, and these issues are particularly prevalent in the current climate.

As an independent trainer, I work closely with organisations to deliver a range of highly rated workshops designed to address challenging work-related issues and promote positive working environments.   I have also facilitated team days for teams wanting to look at how to improve their working lives and given talks and seminars on issues related to enhancing workplace wellbeing. I have published various articles for the journal Counselling at Work.

My background is in the media, and I spent over ten years working as a radio and television producer at the BBC before re-training as a counsellor at the University of Bristol.

Qualifications:

  • PG Diploma in Counselling in Organisational Settings (BACP accredited course), University of Bristol

  • MA Gender Studies, University of the West of England

  • BA Cultural Studies, University of the West of England

I am committed to my own personal and professional development and regularly attend continued professional development trainings.  I am a member of the BACP and abide by the BACP ethical framework for counselling.
